Build confidence in talking a bout climate change and sustainability in your sch ool
\n \nClimate Fresk is a highly engaging and interactive workshop that gives spac e for school staff to explore the science behind c limate change\, discuss practical solutions\, and identify opportunities for positive action and cur riculum links within their school community.
\n \nWe are delighted to offer this dedicated se ssion for school staff across Coastal Furness\, So uth Cumbria and Lancaster at a heavily subsidised rate of just £19 per person (normally £97)\, thank s to support from Walney Extension Community Fund. Click to see if your area is eligible.
\n \nThe workshop is open to teachers\, teaching assistants \, governors\, school leaders\, school staff and o ther education professionals working in primary an d secondary schools.
\n \nSchools have an i ncreasingly important role to play in preparing yo ung people for a changing climate and creating mor e sustainable communities. Climate Fresk provides a strong foundation in climate science\, helping s taff build confidence in discussing climate change and supporting sustainability initiatives within their school.
\n \nUsing 42 cards based dir ectly on the latest reports from the Intergovernme ntal Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)\, participants work together to map the causes and consequences of climate change. Guided by an experienced facili tator\, groups explore the connections\, feedback loops and impacts within the climate system throug h discussion\, collaboration and problem-solving.< /p>\n \n
The workshop is accessible to people f rom all backgrounds and levels of knowledge. Wheth er climate change is already part of your role or you're just beginning to explore the topic\, Clima te Fresk offers an engaging and thought-provoking learning experience.
\n \nMore than 2.3 mil lion people worldwide have now taken part in Clima te Fresk workshops\, making it one of the world's most popular climate education programmes.
\n \ nThe session will be delivered by Futureproof Cumbria's experienced training team. We are the le ad partner of the Zero Carbon Cumbria programme\, and have extensive experience supporting organisat ions\, communities and individuals to understand c limate change and take practical action.

The school is well served by local bus routes from Lancaster city centre\, Morecambe and surrounding areas\, with several bus stops wit hin a short walk of the venue. Lancaster railway s tation is approximately 1 mile away (20–25 minutes on foot)\, with regular rail services from across Cumbria\, Lancashire. \n \nIf you give us your detai ls for car sharing on the booking form\, we will b e in touch to connect you to others looking/offeri ng lifts but cannot guarantee we can link you up t o a lift.

\n \nClimate Fresk involves discussion in small groups\, around tables. We have booked a ro om large enough for the group but there will still inevitably be background noise from other tables. If that would cause issues for you\, plea se contact us in advance of booking to discuss opt ions.
\n \nIf you have any accessibility req uirements or feel there is anything we should know in advance of the course to helo you fully partic ipate\, please add this to your booking form. For example if you want to make our trainers aware of any learning difficulties\, dyslexia or any sight\ , mobility or hearing impairments.
