We are the charity formerly known as Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS)

Project Officer – Homes Team

  • Part Time
  • Penrith
  • £26,070 - £32,070 (FTE) / Year

We’re looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Project Officer to join our Homes Team and help deliver trusted home energy support to communities across Cumbria.

In this role, you’ll be out and about meeting residents, community groups and partners, building strong relationships and encouraging people to access our free home energy services. You’ll coordinate and deliver engaging outreach activities, support volunteers, and make sure clear, practical energy advice reaches households that need it most.

You’ll be confident talking to a wide range of people — from community groups to vulnerable households — and comfortable working independently across the county. You’ll also work closely with our marketing team to capture stories, photos and insights that help shape and improve our services.

If you’re passionate about people, sustainability and making a real local difference — and you enjoy variety, teamwork and community engagement — this is a chance to do meaningful work with a supportive, purpose-driven organisation.

Key details:

  • Part time – 22.5 hours per week.
  • Contract to end March 2027 with potential for extension subject to funding.
  • £26,070 – £32,070 per annum full-time equivalent.
