Join in with the Cross-Cumbria Challenge this Earth Day

Between 22-29 April, we are inviting individuals and organisations to take part in the Cross-Cumbria Challenge to help raise funds for our ‘Together for Tomorrow’ annual appeal. The appeal launches on Earth Day (22nd April) and focuses on the power of community environmental action to drive positive change in Cumbria.

About the Challenge

The Cross-Cumbria Challenge is 100 miles – based on the road distance from Longtown, North Cumbria to the southern tip of Walney Island.

Any form of self-powered travel counts towards the target, whether it is walking to work, cycling at the gym, skating, swimming or scooting. Driving or using other motorised transport is not allowed!

There are two ways to complete the Cross-Cumbria Challenge – solo or as a team of two or more – it is your choice.

You can also choose the length of time that you want to complete the challenge – a day or spread across several days of the appeal. Just pick what will be a challenge for you and your proposed mode of transport.

Awards

Participants will be competing against others involved in the challenge – including Team Futureproof Cumbria – and we will be awarding kudos (and maybe some prizes) for the best in race.
